Agree, and, the biggest challenge (as you and most people know) is to keep the weight off.

For it to work, long term, it's best (essential, I would say) to get your body to want to keep a lower body weight (fat), i.e., to reset it's weight setpoint (adipostat) to a lower (lean) level.

Wholly agree. Keeping the weight off is constantly rolling a boulder up a hill. Perhaps getting more brown fat in our bodies would make the hill less steep.
